New Multipurpose and High Security Card

UANL students’ card is not only a personal identification anymore, it is a tool which will allow university students to carry out procedures at the Academic Department such as paying pre-paid school fees and degree certificate, having a bank service and carrying out seminars control and diploma courses.

UANL students’ card is not only a personal identification anymore, it is a tool which will allow university students to carry out procedures at the Academic Department such as paying pre-paid school fees and degree certificate, having a bank service and carrying out seminars control and diploma courses.

The university card –which is the only one in its kind in Latin America- has a nearness chip that cannot be falsified that increases its potencialities for having qualities of process and storage information.

The presentation of this multifunctional and high security card –which vanguard technology is used by acaemic institutions from Singapur, Germany and Japan- was carried out by UANL President Jesus Ancer Rodriguez and Lic. Manuel Sescosse Varela, Banorte Government General Director; engineer Lazaro Vargas Guerra was also attending this event, he is Department of Academic Records head.

NEW UNIVERSITY CARD

Doctor Jesus Ancer Rodrguez, explained this innovation on new cards was not an expense for UANL or students; although this is a benefit for more than 119 thousand university student who are currently registered in the Leading Academic Institution.

This project, whish is headed by the Department of Academic Records, started on last July with the first cards’ design and prototype; the process of taking photographs began on November 3rd, and there are 105 thousand cards already; in a second stage the process of registration for first year students to this institution will be started.

“It is a card which not many universities in the world has, and we highlight the automation service that will be provided to students, I think it is a modernity that we were waiting for, I want thank Banorte, a bank that tries hard to benefit students,” said UANL President.

Ancer Rodriguez explained that 122 thousand students who are going to finish of regitering in UANL on next January will get this new card, which has a validity of four years, but it has to be renewed every year in the Department of Academic Records.

All universities buildings which were involved in this multifunctional and high security card project were the General Direction of Computing, Institutional and Image and Printing Press which joined the Department of Academic Records’ work.
