A Tutorship Room was opened in School of Law and Criminology (FACDyC, Spanish abbreviation) in order to benefit students, because those who are not good enough academically will receive help as well as those who got extraordinary skills in their professional education.

The investment for having this service was two million and 400 thousand pesos, said Doctor Jose Luis Prado Maillard, FACDyC Principal, who cut the inaugural ribbon with UANL President, Jose Antonio Gonzalez Treviño, Doctor Jesus Ancer Rodriguez, General Secretary and Doctor Ubaldo Ortiz Mendez, Academic Secretary.

In this Tutorship Room, which was benefitted by the Ministry of Education’s Integral Program for the Institutional Strengthening (PIFI, Spanish abbreviation) with 300 thousand pesos, are registered 22 tutor professors for advising students about improving their professional education.

SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS

Flavio Santos, Tutorship Room coordinator, explained that all FACDyC students will be benefitted by this new academic space, not only those students who are not good enough academically, but those who got highlighting skills in a special area.

“This Tutorship Room will support all students and will highlight tutors’ empathy –who, previously assisted to a basic education course- for students feel they can trust tutors and know where they can go to ask their questions or receive attention for their academic, orientation or family problems with the objective of making more efficient their career’s performance,” explained UANL professor.

UANL President, Jose Antonio Gonzalez Treviño, highlighted that Tutorships Program is one of the most important institutional strategies that Universidad got, because it provides the support and orientation to students in order to finish their academic students in the expected time.

“Most of the students go to the University without knowing what this institution requires and they need academic orientation for identifying them and avoiding they get problems in learning, so, this Tutorship Room is appropriate for School of Law and Criminology students,” he said.

Gonzalez Treviño highlighted that the Leading Academic Institution has gotten important resources for carrying out the Development Plan of the University, but all depends on schools’ performance, and they give a capacity of important management.

“Work carried out by all of you makes easier UANL President’s research of resources for investing in infrastructure and equipment. We must leave behind all crisis and limits, and we must keep working with creativity and enthusiasm for attending students –who we receive year by year- in a better way,” he said.
